Not a Joke ...Time is Short

You must make a Choice - Choose Life..before it is too late

Dear friend, I am a pastor. And throughout the years it has been my mission to do my best to bring peace and comfort through ministering the love of God to all people. Today is no different. But just as there were times in the ministry of Jesus when He had to be stern with the crowds, especially those who said they were believers but were not, so the time has come when I too must share the burden of my heart. This burden concerns the immediate days ahead.

It is not coincidence that St. Jude wrote:

"But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And on some have compassion, making a distinction; but others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh" (Jude 1:20-23 NKJV).

I have spent my lifetime having compassion on as many as the Lord sends but now I must sound a warning. Please do not take the following lightly. Your life depends upon it.

As we inch closer to what the Bible describes as "the Day of the Lord" or in Jesus' words the most terrible time in world history we have to ask, "How prepared are we?" If Jesus broke the skies of heaven today, as He promised He would (John 14:1-3), would you be ready to meet Him?  Be honest. Are you walking with Jesus? Are your sins forgiven? Specifically, Jesus said, "For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be" (Matthew 24:21 NKJV). What's ahead for this world is not a joke. Now is not the time to be ridiculing, scoffing, and making a sport of faith in Christ. His judgment is coming and when it comes... it will come in full fury and it will come quickly.

The Bible calls this fast approaching period the day of God's wrath. Similar to the destruction that befell ancient Jerusalem at the hands of Babylon, 6th century B. C., when the nation forsook the Lord, so will it be in the days to come. Hear what God's word says, do not turn your ear away, for the prophecy is sure and it is coming:

"Behold, the day of the LORD comes, cruel, with both wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate; and He will destroy its sinners from it.  For the stars of heaven and their constellations will not give their light; The sun will be darkened in its going forth, and the moon will not cause its light to shine.  "I will punish the world for its evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; I will halt the arrogance of the proud, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible. I will make a mortal more rare than fine gold, a man more than the golden wedge of Ophir. Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth will move out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts and in the day of His fierce anger. Isaiah 13:9-13 (NKJV)

Is this coming day a day you have no fear of facing? What about your family?

Isaiah goes on to prophesy that no sinner on earth at the time shall escape:

"Behold, the LORD makes the earth empty and makes it waste, distorts its surface and scatters abroad its inhabitants.  And it shall be: as with the people, so with the priest [false teacher]; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with the creditor, so with the debtor. The land shall be entirely emptied and utterly plundered, for the LORD has spoken this word.  The earth mourns and fades away, the world languishes and fades away; The haughty people of the earth languish.  The earth is also defiled under its inhabitants, Because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.  Therefore the curse has devoured the earth, And those who dwell in it are desolate. Therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men are left. ...  Fear and the pit and the snare are upon you, O inhabitant of the earth.  And it shall be that he who flees from the noise of the fear Shall fall into the pit, and he who comes up from the midst of the pit shall be caught in the snare; for the windows from on high are open, and the foundations of the earth are shaken.  The earth is violently broken, the earth is split open, the earth is shaken exceedingly.  The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall totter like a hut; its transgression shall be heavy upon it, and it will fall, and not rise again.  It shall come to pass in that day that the LORD will punish on high the host of exalted ones, and on the earth the kings of the earth" Isaiah 24:1-6, 17-21 (NKJV).

Some will say, "Oh, they have been saying this for years." Little do they realize that the long-suffering mercy of God has been waiting, holding off judgment, for many centuries to give as many as will come forth from the world an opportunity to live eternally in the heavenly realms and in a new heaven and a new earth, (see Rev. 21 and 22). If one will just open their eyes and try to understand that the chaos going on around the world is not coincidence; it was predicted to occur. With war upon war and the persecution and murder of the saints of God occurring regularly [vis. ISIS & Christians] just having an open mind to God's word will provide you the opportunity to see, that as predicted, so things are quickly coming to pass. Russia, the Bear of the North, who is led by the prince "Gog," is making her move just as Ezekiel predicted (cp. Ezek. 38-39). Soon she will make her move toward "The Glorious Land," Israel, and God's fury will be unleashed. That prophecy is an event that will herald the coming Day of God's wrath. Of that time Ezekiel states:

"And it will come to pass at the same time, when Gog comes against the land of Israel," says the Lord GOD, "that My fury will show in My face. For in My jealousy and in the fire of My wrath I have spoken: 'Surely in that day there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel, so that the fish of the sea, the birds of the heavens, the beasts of the field, all creeping things that creep on the earth, and all men who are on the face of the earth shall shake at My presence. The mountains shall be thrown down, the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.'"
(Ezekiel 38:18-20 NKJV)

The Good News
If you do not want to be one of the people mentioned who will face the wrath of almighty God you do not have to. The door to Jesus' heaven is still open. The opportunity to have your name written in the Lamb's Book of Life is still available (Rev. 13:8, 21:27). But soon, just as God shut the door on the ark in Noah's day the door will soon be be shut on the opportunity to escape His coming wrath. You can be forgiven. Listen to the word's of Jesus from Matthew:

"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For My yoke is easy and My burden is light" Matthew 11:28-30 (NKJV).

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" John 3:16 (NKJV.

Salvation is through faith because of God's grace (undeserving mercy)
"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God" (Ephesians 2:8 NKJV)"

Salvation is not just for a few, it is for all
"And the Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely" (Revelation 22:17 NKJV).

God promises that all who will believe upon Jesus a s Savior and Lord, the forgiver of sin, will not have to face the hour to come
Jesus spoke: "Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth" (Revelation 3:10 NKJV).

I know that believing upon Jesus is a tough decision especially when you think about what it means before peers and family. But is what is temporary more important than what is eternal? Is making a few people happy for a limited time worth throwing a way eternity? You must make a choice. I pray you will choose Jesus.

Dear Father, I pray that whoever reads this post concerning the forgiveness of sin that was gained for us through the blood spilled by Jesus on the cross, I pray they will truly consider the cost of living in sin and without You. I pray they will turn in confession to you and ask for your grace to cover their sin by faith. I thank You Lord for giving all of us this opportunity. Please convict them and give them courage Lord. In Jesus' name, Amen

Still doubt the prophecies? Consider the following:

The book "25 Reasons to Believe," refers to Peter Stoners's work surrounding the probabilities of prophecies being fulfilled by Jesus Christ. Here is an excerpt:

"No other Man in the history of the world has ever been written about more than Jesus. The reason for this is really threefold:

1) In His lifetime He fulfilled over 100 Old Testament prophecies. Fulfilling just eight of them has a probability factor of 10 to the 17th power or 100,000,000,000,000,000.**

2) No one has ever single handedly raised the dead, made the lame walk, healed eyesight and hearing, cleansed the lepers, and preached to the poor (Mt. 11:3-6).

3) He is the only one to ever rise from the dead by His own power and authority promising life to all who believe"

Won't you trust Jesus today? The prophecy written is will come to pass.

A while back the Barna Group released a report titled, "Six Reasons Young Christians Leave Church." 1  Under reason two, " Teens’ and twenty-somethings’ experience of Christianity is shallow" they write:  "A second reason that young people depart church as young adults is that something is lacking in their experience of church. One-third said “church is boring” (31%). One-quarter of these young adults said that “faith is not relevant to my career or interests” (24%) or that “the Bible is not taught clearly or often enough” (23%). Sadly, one-fifth of these young adults who attended a church as a teenager said that “God seems missing from my experience of church” (20%)."  If one takes a look at the modern church-scape I can see why. The gap between those pastors and teachers that are fired up about Jesus and those that do not preach all of th

Fornication - The Acceptable Sin?

In the Bible there are several sexual sins that are categorized under the term,"Sexual Immorality." Not the least of these is, "Fornication." However fornication has become an outdated, and in many places, the acceptable sin in the late twentieth and twenty-first centuries. As a matter of fact, many do not even know what the term "fornication" means. Since the advent of the modern Bible translation, many have never heard of it. This article focuses on what the Scripture says about this out-of-control acceptable sin. Fornication is mentioned thirty-six times in the Bible (MT), thirty-two times in the New Testament. In almost all modern translations the word has been substituted with, "sexual immorality" and has come to mean any number of sexual sins. However, sin (missing the mark) is still sin and sin still separates a person from God. So why has this sin become so acceptable even in modern churches???? UPDATE : Here is a testimony of life

The Bride of Christ Has Made Herself Ready!!

The Bible teaches of an upcoming Wedding Day that the Church should be on cloud nine over!! Rev. 19:7-9 states: Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come , and His wife has made herself ready." And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. Then he said to me, "Write: 'Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!' " And he said to me, "These are the true sayings of God." The passage above speaks of two distinct events, the Marriage of the Lamb and the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. Both of these events are reminiscent of the ancient Jewish wedding ceremony where the Bride would become betrothed to her Groom and he would go away to build her a home. In the meantime she would wait anxiously for his return with shouts from his wedding party of "The Bridegroom Comes!" When the shouts were he

Understanding Grace…without it no one can be saved!

Years ago as a pastor, I faced an issue concerning the topic of “Grace.” I had noticed some congregants who were taking Grace to the extreme and beginning to teach that since our sins were bought and paid for at the cross—all of them, past, present, and future—there was no need to strive against sin. Thanks to our Lord, this was noticed and the He quickly allowed it to be curbed. This heresy occasionally rears its head in Christian circles and indeed must be stopped before it becomes out-of-control. The good thing is that a proper understanding of Grace can arrest the heresy in its steps. Because this false perception thrives in loose living, many well-meaning Christians go completely to the opposite extreme and throw the Biblical teaching of “Grace” out altogether. That too is heresy. How should we approach it? Grace, as a doctrine, should always be presented in its entirety. By that I mean, a starting definition, followed by why it is important, and concluding with keeping it scri

Cardboard Signs and Saying Yes to God

Perhaps you have seen the story of "Daniel's Gloves". It has been floating around the internet since 2001 according to They also tell us the original author is Richard Ryan the assistant Pastor of a Church in Indiana.  I refer to this story—which you will find posted below mine—because of the effect that helping one in need can actually have on a believer’s life. One of the things I have done in the past is monitor just how many people there are who simply pass on by those who are holding a sign stating “Will work for food” or “Need Help for me and my children.” If you ask the hurting they will tell you there are literally hundreds and hundreds who just will not help. Truly it is a sad testimony that “one or a few bad apple(s) can spoil a whole bushel.” It is definitely something I also have observed. For some reason we either fear them, fear confrontation or fear being deceived. Whatever the reason, I often wonder how God feels about it. Just a fe
