The Biblical Principle of Darkness

Give glory to the LORD your God Before He causes darkness, And before your feet stumble On the dark mountains, And while you are looking for light, He turns it into the shadow of death And makes it dense darkness.  (Jeremiah 13:16) In God's economy, an economy which all are subject to whether they accept it or not, there comes a time when widespread rebellion will result in a thick darkness representing the judgment of God. This happened to the land of Judah as they fell captive to the Babylonian armies in the 6th Century B.C. God had commissioned Jeremiah to announce that while it was still twilight they needed to seek God in repentance . The phrase, "Give glory to God" is an idiom for confessing ones sin (See Josh. 7:19 and John 9:24). The land of Judah was given a time to turn to God. The brightness was fading and the twilight had fallen. Soon darkness would cover the land and the time of turning would be past. Jesus Himself validated this principle when He stat

The First Noel and Reconciliation

Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger." And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: "Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!" So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, "Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us." And they came with haste an

Christmas 365

It's no secret that during the Christmas season more people are inspired to help the less-fortunate. I use the term less-fortunate to include those in that position, be it no fault of their own, or those whose bad decisions are manifest by current circumstances. It is often said, to never give money to a homeless person because they will use it on drugs or alcohol. Maybe they will--maybe they wont. Does the Bible ever tell us to not help those in need? No, never. Why is this so? Because giving may help the one in need but ultimately it is for our spiritual benefit. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. (1 Corinthians 13:3) Why would Paul mention the phrase, "profits me nothing?" Because giving is a spiritual exercise. We give because the sanctification of the Spirit, who is transforming our lives day-to-day to be conformed to Christ's image. It's all a par

Happy Thanksgiving

Thank you for reading my blog!! May your day be blessed with the awesome bounty that God alone has supplied upon the earth! Be thankful for all you have and all you will enjoy and be sure to let God know it's from your heart! For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving; for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. (1 Timothy 4:4-5) God Bless

Revelation 2 - First Love

In the Apostle's Revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ we introduced to seven churches each held in the right hand of the Lord Jesus; all but one receiving a letter of both praise and critique. These letters are unique in that they represent actual church bodies that at one time existed (See above photo of Ephesus Church) yet are preserved as testaments of what the Lord desires His church to represent. Each of the churches, saving Laodicea, have qualities that are fitting for churches throughout all ages to emulate. But they also have qualities that are carnal and if left unattended, will cause personal loss and harm to the cause of the Lord. As a called out believer I am compelled to take the firm stand that when God shows us a thing, an area, or an attitude in our life that needs work we really need to take heed. Even though His mercy and compassion, all acts of Grace, are new each morning, Lam. 3:22-23, continual quenching of the Spirit of God will only lead to His hand of p

What the World is Missing -The Holy Spirit

A lot of people love to call Christians illiterate, uneducated, ignorant, and mentally challenged. They say we cannot think for ourselves so we let others think for us. They say since living in today's twenty-first century is complex that we resort to the Bible as a guide and blindly follow the teachings of Christ, who Himself, was filled with a Messiah complex and was a lunatic. The accusations go on-and-on and never seem to end. Depending on who a person reads, blindly thrown accusations are hurled without real thought and are usually based upon little fact and are themselves the regurgitated arguments of the atheists, evolutionists, liberal theologians, agnostics, and active homosexuals who will not accept the plain words of Scripture. I rarely read a unique criticism. Most of the accusations and snarling that I have read have been adequately crushed but the ones who continue to hurl them are either unaware of this or despise their defeat. They themselves boost their ego by

Joel Two and The Blood Moon

There has been a lot of talk and some fuss over the "Blood Moon" phenomenon that astrologists and prophecy experts say will occur next spring and again the year after. Is it a sign on parallel with the Star of Bethlehem that led the Magi over the desert to the place where Jesus was born? Is it a sign of events that trigger the coming Tribulation or even the Rapture? There are differing opinions. Personally I believe these Blood Moons are definitely signs of our times. Enough has been written discussing the themes above that I could not add any help. However, what I would like to do is to look at the Blood Moon of Joel two. The mention is in Joel 2:31, "The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood , Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD." What Blood Moon is Joel talking about? Let's walk through the passages and consider what Joel states. As we get into the passage students of the New Testament will note that the Apost

Gay Marriage Rally in IL Heating Up

UPDATE: Today November 6th 2013. Gay marriage bill SB 10 passes by two votes. Thanks to Pope Francis the Gays got the votes they needed to live in sin against the Biblical Covenant for marriage between one man and one woman. I will go on record to state the following, Illinois may recognize Gay Same Sex marriage but God does not. Pope Francis' words have been twisted to mean he is a supporter of Homosexual Marriage. No body is 100% sure this is true. His statements are clouded by misinterpretation and double speak. But his words were used to tip the scales in favor of Gay Marriages in IL. I quote the Chicago Tribune article to prove this: http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/politics/clout/chi-gay-marriage-illinois-20131105,0,7759837.story Advocates soon received additional help from Pope Francis, who warned that the Catholic Church could lose its way by focusing too much on social stances, including opposition to homosexuality. "If a person is gay and seeks God and

Thirteen Reasons for Persecution

There has never been a cause in history where more innocent blood has been spilt, than for the name of Jesus Christ.  Despite the blessings that come with being obedient to God when our lives come in harmony with the heavenly blueprint, Jesus never kept people ignorant of the sufferings that would also come their way when humbly following His word.  Whether it is internal or external, psychological or mental, He prophesied that the blessings would come ‘with persecutions’ (Mark 10:29, 30).  Jesus knew that His heavenly teachings would be in direct conflict with the self-glorifying, pompous, idolatrous philosophy of the pagan culture’ of the world that His followers would come into contact with and throughout the New Testament there are constant warnings and prophecies from Christ and the apostles of the persecution’ that would follow once they embraced and lived the gospel (Matt. 10:21, 22; Mark 13:12; Luke 21:18; John 16:2; I Cor. 4:11-14; II Tim. 3:11, 12;

Emotional Deception and Moral Truth

But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. Hebrews 5:14 (NKJV) In an article broadcast and published Oct. 7th, 2013 on Break Point , entitled, Of Mice and Men, and The Abolition of Both , Eric Metaxas makes a brilliant point concerning stepping over boundaries between what we want and what is good for us. In his article he exposes the direction and intent of some of the responses to the research and discovery of the ability to create life (eggs for implantation) from the skin of a mouse. This discovery was made by the brilliant molecular biologist Katsuhiko Hayashi of Kyoto University. Mr. Hayashi was able to create baby mice using the skin cells of a female mouse. He was also able to replicate this using the skin cells of a male mouse. See "Of Mice and Men" at www.breakpoint.org   In the article, Metaxas exposes two responses to Hayashi, one from an in
