Truth and The Sifted Generation

One of the most famous quotes in history is Pilate's famous word's to Jesus, "What is truth?" (John 18:38). His remark was in response to Jesus' frank declaration that "...everyone who is of the truth hears my voice" (John 18:37). In today's world, it seems Pilate's words have become a cultural rallying point while Jesus' words...well, not so much. For instance the result of Pilate's words echo loudly over the megaphone of mixed messages that hammer us through non-stop liberal media productions, hopeless political distractions, and drastically liberal theological positions which bring the Christian faith into mockery. All of these, and more, have created a kind of alphabetical soup culture replete with chaos and mixed messages. No wonder so many people live with depression. Unless you are a hermit on a deserted island you will never escape the crescendo of voices pushing, ramming, and clamoring for us to hear and accept their poin

Truth Inspires: Uninspired Quote of the Week

"If this legislation passes, clergy would not risk church trials or the loss of their credentials for officiating at same-gender weddings or, in some conferences, coming out as openly gay," reported the United Methodist News.* A statement made in reference to a favorable vote of 26 to 10 by the UMC Connectional Table to allow Gay Ministers and Gay weddings in the United Methodist Church. Why is this quote so ludicrous in light of God's Word? Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. It seems a day does not go by where some example of hostility toward believers is encountered or a believer is challenged to stand for his/her faith. It's these types of trials and tough encounters that Christians have feared for many years. I have been told many times by faithful believers that they just don't know what they would say or do if they were placed in a trying position with reference to their faith. As a matter of fact the most common thing I hear is, "No one really knows how they would respond." And in many cases that is probably true.  Although I have only been faced with being fired from a few secular jobs I can say with empathy it isn't easy to make a public stand. But in each case where I have bee
