When Friends and skeptics control our decision making processes we betray ourselves by showing our weaknesses and they know it. We are no more than a Lemming at that point; to weak to make decisions on our own! So let me ask, who or what is it that controls your skepticism when it comes to the Bible and believing in Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior? A new survey shows that 19% of the population of America are skeptics of the Bible. According to the survey this percentage is equal to the number of Americans who are very active in reading the Bible. The survey breaks the skeptical 19% down the following way: Digging into the population segmentation of Bible skeptics, we find that two-thirds are 48 or younger (28% Millennials, 36% Gen-Xers), and they are twice as likely to be male (68%) than female (32%). Give glory to the LORD your God Before He causes darkness, And before your feet stumble On the dark mountains, And while you are looking for light, He turns it into the shadow of death And makes it dense darkness.  (Jeremiah 13:16) In God's economy, an economy which all are subject to whether they accept it or not, there comes a time when widespread rebellion will result in a thick darkness representing the judgment of God. From the Associated Press we read: "In tight-knit Newtown on Friday night, hundreds of people packed St. Rose of Lima church and stood outside in a vigil for the 28 dead - 20 children and six adults at the school, the gunman's mother at home, and the gunman himself, who committed suicide. “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us” is one of the songs on the new cd “ Live Like That,” by Side Walk Prophets. The song underscores the power of the blood-bought church of the Lord in these last days. Literally there is nothing that can or will stop the Lord Jesus Christ accomplishing His work in His church. If we allow the onslaught of evil that is being hurled against the Lord, His Church and His Word to bring us down then we have taken our eyes off of Christ and His everlasting promises. It is He that has defeated all demonic forces of evil having triumphed over them and made a spectacle of them through the cross (see Col. 2:15). The onslaught within and without the Church only underscores what deception and real evil looks like under the surface.  Evil is simply evil—Sin simply destroys—deception is a killer. Proverbs 4:23 reminds us to, "Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life." (NKJV) I love the castle illustration that Charles Spurgeon used in his sermon, "As Thy Days, So Shall Thy Strength Be." At one point in the sermon he speaks of the crafty devil and how he knows the backdoor to a man’s heart. In pointing out how some say they are able to walk a pure life without sin, he clearly warns to be careful with that statement. I have a message that God has laid firmly upon my heart. After reading it you may think I am a harsh, unkind, unloving, and intolerant. So be it. I can only say what is on my heart. I have tried for years to simply tell the good news of the gospel, diligently working to spread the love of Christ. But the time has come that I can no longer be silent. I must speak my heart. God’s judgment is nearing and I have no recourse except to bring the message He has laid upon my heart. Every day I hear more and more stories of how Pastors and denominations are moving closer and closer to the dark side; how national leaders are embracing unholy lifestyles and sickening hurtful sin, all in the name of tolerance.
