Growing, Believing, Obeying and Maturing In Christ

While we await the Blessed Hope and the glorious appearing of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the blessed in God, Apostle Paul , left us an example of how we are to live our lives. He states, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus, Philippians 3:14. This “Pressing on” by necessity involves maturing in our faith. It is especially important yet sometimes a hard thing for a new believer to grasp this concept, so I often just tell them to find a local Bible believing church, attend faithfully and by all means start a Bible reading program where they can begin to learn as much about Christ as the Lord will allow; after all, it is the Holy Spirit’s responsibility to mature, lead, guide and teach us the things that glorify God and emanate from His throne, John 14:26. That said, it does not give the church a license to skulk away from our responsibility to pray, point and lead them in the right direction. We must be ever vigilant in our own mat...

Compromising Jesus

How much do you love Jesus? The majority of Christians would say, “I love Him a lot.” Some would even say, “I love Him more than anything!” But if we pressed the question to get a more specific answer, we may be surprised.  In the passage below, the Lord Jesus had brought healing to a man who sat begging daily at the gate called “Beautiful.” Peter and John were the hands through which he worked, and were now being called upon the carpet by the well educated Jerusalem religious leaders of the day. Peter and John’s message:   12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved ." Acts 4:12 (NKJV) These religious leaders and their entourage could not stomach the words of Peter and John, yet they knew a man had been made well and that these words were accompanied by power. But because the crowds were beginning to follow Christ and their power over the masses was at stake, they had to make a decision and ...

God’s Obedient Remnant

Then He said to His disciples, "The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Matthew 9:37 (NKJV) I was thinking today about a couple of things I recently read, and while pondering them, I thought of the verse above. Today, as in all years past, God has had His remnant of obedient and believers who have never failed to take forth the gospel to the world of despair. The passage above follows with a request to pray for the Lord to bring forth laborers into His harvest (vs. 38). As a believer there have been many times I have felt like doing something for God and many others when the Lord requested I do something for Him. The difference in the two is the Lord was in one and I was in the other. God provided the laborers in the one, while I was the laborer in the other.  It is a simple principle that teaches listening, responding through prayer, and obeying Christ’s call will result in provision for His harvest. God always provides the needs for His missions. What God...

A Titanic Mistake by Tim (soundingthealarm on raptureforums.com)

Many of us have had a hard time articulating how we feel in our hearts about the Florida Pastor who wants to burn the Koran. As I read this I was moved with the love this brother has for the Lord.  I felt his message should be shared because he speaks the truth and helps us to better relate and express what we believers also feel in our hearts during these alarming days of choice.  I hope it blesses you as much as it blessed my wife and I.  I post it just as he wrote it.  Mike A Titanic Mistake A Titanic Mistake The Quran Burning Pastor ....I must confess reflects a carnal side of me I have Loved My Country, I've loved being an American ...small town born an raised.....right in the heart of America Grew up going to church ....sunday morning (sunday school and service), sunday night, wednesday night an choir practice night cause my mom was the church pianoist Grew up when you actually "hauled hay" ...The American flag wasn't something you burned but Held...
