Caught in the Grip of Sin?

The Lord has placed on my heart this day all of those who are caught in the grip of a sinful lifestyle. Many have come to edge of life and they are clueless as to what their life is worth or whether anyone cares. I would just like to say, if that describes your life and you really would like to be set free from the oppression you are experiencing, that there is hope! You have to understand that God does love you. He knows your every move and where you are right now. Maybe you have never read the story of the "Woman at the Well." But if you have time please read this story. I have underlined some important things to think about: 3 He left Judea and departed again to Galilee. 4 But He needed to go through Samaria . 5 So He came to a city of Samaria which is called Sychar, near the plot of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. 6 Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied from His journey, sat thus by the well. It was about the sixth hour. 7 A wom

Resurrection Week Ponderings...

The Bible speaks of a spiritual battle that continues to be waged in the hearts and lives of Christians for all of their earthly existence—the war between the Spirit of God and the lusts of the flesh. In light of this, the apostle Paul gave this directive to all Christians: Galatians 5:16-17 (NKJV) 16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.   Courtesy Cafe Mom* It is easy to recognize this battle when we think of it in terms of selfishness or instant gratification. The reality of the battle becomes apparent when we have chosen to follow our lustful cravings rather than being self-sacrificing, whether it is unto the Lord or unto another. But there is another—often hidden—side to this battle that we do not always recognize. It is the battle to think and look at life in terms o

Hosanna (ὡσαννά) in the Highest!

Today we celebrate Palm Sunday. It is one of my favorite times of the year. With the Holy week ahead of us it is a time of preparation and memorial of the Sacrifice of Remembrance , Christ, our passover, is sacrificed for us! It is believed that it was through the Eastern Gate that Christ rode on a donkey and was hailed as king by all of His followers. You will notice it is sealed up. Evidently, in 1517 when the Turks conquered Jerusalem under the leadership of Suleiman the Magnificent, he ordered all the walls of the ancient city to be rebuilt. During this this rebuild project it is said he also ordered that the Eastern Gate be enclosed by stones effectively sealing it from entry. A similar Eastern Gate is also the subject of future prophecy when we shall see the Shekinah glory of God enter into the future rebuilt Millennial temple through a New gate that faces east. Just after The Glory of God enters the Holy Place that Gate will also be closed up, (Ezekiel 44:1-3). (Note:

Being “Set Straight” for Jesus!

If there is anything that can get a person stirred up it would have to be when they are “kicking against the goads” of Scriptural truth! The term “goads”comes from the Greek word Kentron ( κεντρα) which literally means a thorn or a prick, or as Barnes puts it, “ any sharp point which will pierce or perforate, as the sting of a bee.” 1 It was used by the Lord when he confronted the Apostle Paul on the Damascus road in Acts 9. Paul, zealously performing his thoughtful duty to God, or so he thought, was trying to rid the Jewish society of those pesky Christians when he was confronted by the Lord Jesus from heaven! A light shone around him and as the story goes: 4 Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?" 5 And he said, "Who are You, Lord?" Then the Lord said, "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads." (Acts 9:4-5 (NKJV) Paul thought He was doing God’s w

Why “Those Who Are Wise Will Shine!”

"At that time Michael shall stand up, The great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; And there shall be a time of trouble, Such as never was since there was a nation, Even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, Every one who is found written in the book. And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt. Those who are wise shall shine Like the brightness of the firmament, And those who turn many to righteousness Like the stars forever and ever. "But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase." (Daniel 12:1-4 NKJV) Many have asked me, why the title Those Who Are Wise Will Shine ? The first thing I tell them is God placed it upon my heart long ago. I prayed about it and looked at other titles but could not move away from this one. It is also a passage of
