"At that time Michael shall stand up, The great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; And there shall be a time of trouble, Such as never was since there was a nation, Even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, Every one who is found written in the book. And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt. Those who are wise shall shine Like the brightness of the firmament, And those who turn many to righteousness Like the stars forever and ever. "But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase." (Daniel 12:1-4 NKJV)
Many have asked me, why the title Those Who Are Wise Will Shine? The first thing I tell them is God placed it upon my heart long ago. I prayed about it and looked at other titles but could not move away from this one. It is also a passage of Scripture from Dan 12:3. The passage is one of many exciting and revealing texts that give the reader a glimpse into future events that have yet to transpire. Michael the Archangel the protector of Israel stands alongside of the Lord (Dt. 32:7-8) as he stands watch over Israel during the coming “Times of Trouble” that Jesus referred to in the following way:
15 "Therefore when you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" (whoever reads, let him understand),
16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.
17 Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house.
18 And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes.
19 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days!
20 And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath.
21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.
22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened. (Mt. 24:15-22 NKJV)
Daniel says it will be at that time that his people, Israel, shall be delivered but they will go through a very fiery trial, Jer. 30:7. The Apostle Paul confirms their deliverance in Rom. 11:24ff:
26 And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: "The Deliverer will come out of Zion, And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob;
27 For this is My covenant with them, When I take away their sins."
28 Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers.
29 For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.
30 For as you were once disobedient to God, yet have now obtained mercy through their disobedience,
31 even so these also have now been disobedient, that through the mercy shown you they also may obtain mercy.
32 For God has committed them all to disobedience, that He might have mercy on all.
33 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!
As it is now, so shall it be in those days ahead, for those “wise” who will shine, in those days, are those who will stand alongside of the Lord in bring many to righteousness. During those days the Lord’s message of hope and salvation through faith in Christ will not be squelched. He will reserve 144,000 Jewish believers to go into the world and take the gospel to the ends of the earth, Rev 7:3-10. But they will not be alone, for even the angels will be heralding the everlasting gospel to those areas in which we today have not been able to reach:
6 Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth--to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people--
7 saying with a loud voice, "Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water." (Revelation 14:6-7 (NKJV))
Jesus said the end would not come until the gospel was preached into all the earth (Mt. 24:14). Rest assured before His feet land on the Mt. of Olives, Zech. 14:4-5, all will have heard the gospel!! His light will indeed shine even into the darkest reaches of the earth. All will hear …Christ is King!! Hear the message—turn to Christ and allow His love to fill your soul. This world has nothing to offer but pain and trial, John. 16:33, but the glorious days ahead will be full of nothing but pure joy!
Listen to me, my friend, all your life you have wanted happiness, peace, and a chance to be free without worry—that day is coming! It is just around the corner and the life God had planned for all will become a reality. When He returns, we who are His will return with Him in glory having already been delivered out of the day of trial, to partake alongside of Jesus in a glorious day of rejoicing!
The wise that shine, will spread the good news because they have already received it from Jesus. Won’t you become part of that crowd today? Read His Word and believe …for today is the day of salvation!
God Bless!
Bro. Mike.
