Truth Inspires

  It was Charles Spurgeon who said, " Saints know that a grain of heart's-ease is of more value than a ton of gold ." The true saint of God knows that a day cannot pass, rather, must not pass, without giving thanks to the Father above and seeking Him for the orders of the day. For what can a saint really do that could carry an eternal weight of glory except it be done in obedience to the One who holds the day firmly in His grasp? Just as a river finds its source from the high mountains that feed the underwater springs so true peace can only flow through the channels of the heart if it is birthed from the high and lofty throne of heaven. Jesus said He came to bring an eternal peace but it was not a peace such as the world flaunts, but a peace which comes from above -- from the true and eternal fountain of peace (see John 14:27). The peace of the world is a counterfeit that leads the errant astray in all of its bling, yet it holds no eternal weight in the sight of God...

I am sending out a request for Men and Women of Christ all over the world to pray for these genuine believers who have stood for Christ in the midst of hate and demonically driven hostility. When putting on the "Whole Armor" of God we often overlook the importance of having our feet "shod with the gospel of peace." A very close friend of mine took the time to tell many others about just how important those shoes really are. “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us” is one of the songs on the new cd “ Live Like That,” by Side Walk Prophets. The song underscores the power of the blood-bought church of the Lord in these last days. Literally there is nothing that can or will stop the Lord Jesus Christ accomplishing His work in His church. If we allow the onslaught of evil that is being hurled against the Lord, His Church and His Word to bring us down then we have taken our eyes off of Christ and His everlasting promises. It is He that has defeated all demonic forces of evil having triumphed over them and made a spectacle of them through the cross (see Col. 2:15). Biblical hope does not mean to “hope” that God exists, but rather, because we know He exists we have hope! Brenna (my lovely wife) Daniel Knew his God ...do you? November should always be an exciting month. In America, we celebrate a day of Thanksgiving on the 4th Thursday of the month. The hymn, Joy to the world, the Lord has come , is a seasonal favorite in churches and homes during the Christmas season. It was written by Isaac Watts' and published as a hymn in his famous hymnal, Psalms of David Imitated in the Language of the New Testament. 1 In my estimation it is meant to declare the “Joy" one is to experience when they consider the Biblical nativity (1st Advent) and eternal rule (2nd Advent), where the Lord twice steps out of eternity and into the bounds of time. What I would like for us to consider is the question, "Can real joy be found every day of our lives?" The Matthew Henry commentary published in 1706, of which the great evangelist George Whitfield read completely, four times, the last time on his knees, penned the following concerning sin that plagues the life of the lost:  Also the terrors of conscience disturbed their enjoyments. God hath said it, and all the world cannot unsay it, That there is no peace to those who allow themselves in any sin. The times we live in are turbulent. No one would disagree. They are tough and for many they are overwhelming on many levels. The Christian has been given an arsenal to use in times like these. We have the Scripture, the Words of Jesus, and the Bible's many promises, ....all given to help succor the inner hope and peace that we need to face life each new day. It is this inner place of the soul that we need to feed with the living presence of God. This is the place we can run to when trials of any sort cross our path.  The Scripture reveals that many times Jesus went off by Himself away from the crowds. Although we are not told, on many of those occasions why, we can surmise it was to commune with the Father. When He was facing the biggest trial of his human life, the crucifixion, He gathered His disciples and He simply said to them, "Sit here while I go and pray over there." What! That could never happen where I am from! Really? Satan the arch enemy of God and of all true believers is still at work attacking and destroying the lives of innocent victims around the world. The victims can be found in both those who are hurt and those who do the hurting. Like most of you, I am sickened by the things I often see in the news, rapes, tortures, hunger, and murder around the world and our nation. In the days before mass communication these things occurred but we never heard of it unless it came locally. But with the rise of the "www" world we hear and we see it all. One way around it is to tune it out or never take the time to read or listen to the news. But even still, the destruction lives on, uncurtailed. We live a sick, sick world. The last breath of life is "on the inhale" before Christ returns and the enemy is bound and determined to take as many down with him as is possible.
