We know that the mind is the place of spiritual battle. How is yours doing? Have you any room for the Good News of Jesus Christ or have you just left Him completely out? Has the cares of this life taken their toll? One day we will all stand before the Lord. It will either be at the "Judgment Seat of Christ" or the "Great White Throne Judgment". Both of these judgments will come. The question is "Are you ready?"
Judgment Seat of Christ:
The "Judgment seat of Christ"is a judgment for Believers in Christ only. It is here that the "Bride of Christ" will be clothed with the eternal rewards that God promises to all those who believe upon the Lord Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sin and are subsequently clothed in His Righteousness, 2 Cor. 5:21. Rev. 19:7-8 tell us "Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready; it was granted her to clothe herself with fine linen, bright and pure”— for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints." The Bride has made herself ready because she has appeared before this judgment and has been clothed for eternity in white linens that represent her acts of obedience to the Lord
Anyone not clothed in His righteousness will not stand at this judgment, but rather will appear at the "Great White Throne" judgment.
2 Corinthians 5:6-10 (ESV)
6 So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, 7 for we walk by faith, not by sight. 8 Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. 9 So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.
Romans 14:10-12 (ESV)
10 Why do you pass judgment on your brother? Or you, why do you despise your brother? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God; 11 for it is written, “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.” 12 So then each of us will give an account of himself to God.
The Great White Throne Judgment:
The "Great White Throne" judgment is reserved for those who have ignored what the Scripture teaches and have tried to make it into heaven on their own acts of righteousness. That is, they have felt they were good enough as a person to get heaven without Christ. Jesus told of this in in a parable that represents the Bride of Christ, the church, represented at the wedding which takes place in heaven. In the crowd was one who tried to get in on their own merit and here is what He said,“But when the king came in to look at the guests, he saw there a man who had no wedding garment. And he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you get in here without a wedding garment?’ And he was speechless. Then the king said to the attendants, ‘Bind him hand and foot and cast him into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’" Matthew 22:11-13 (ESV)
What does the Bible say about those who attend this judgment?
Revelation 20:11-15 (ESV)
11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. 13 And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. 14 Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15 And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
There is one thing that keeps us out of heaven and that is not having the "Righteousness of Christ." Sin is sin no matter the flavor. We can stand in judgment against the most heinous sin that one can commit and say at least I am not like that man or that woman, but it will not stand. The Ten commandments are clear. None of us have ever kept them perfectly and we stand judged as a breaker of those laws. By admitting your sin to God and confessing you believe that you cannot make it to heaven on your own merit; by confessing you are sorry for the sins committed and want to start anew with Jesus as your sin bearer and advocate you can can be clothed with His righteousness - His robe. You must then throw yourself at His feet in prayer and ask for Him to come in a change your ways and life. My friend if you will do that in sincerity He will turn heaven upside down to bless you with His life. You should then get into a Bible believing church and start reading about God in the Scripture daily.
My prayer is that all who read this will indeed believe upon the Lord Jesus and escape the wrath of judgment that is to come.
God Bless!
