The Time To Seek The Lord Is Now!

Too long have Americans brushed the truths and principles of Scripture aside. Most have treated the Lord in the same way they treat a life insurance policy--He is only thought about when necessary. The Late Keith Green was known to be hard-lined when it came to the lyrics of his music aimed at his generation. In one of his songs he wrote the line "If you cannot come to me everyday then don't bother coming at all." * Harsh? Yes, to some. But to others the line induced them to take a closer look at their personal relationship to God. If the Lord were to speak to us all today His message would be the same as was brought to Israel of old around 2700 years ago. He would say"

To whom then will you liken God? Or what likeness will you compare to Him? The workman molds an image, The goldsmith overspreads it with gold, And the silversmith casts silver chains. Whoever is too impoverished for such a contribution Chooses a tree that will not rot; He seeks for himself a skillful workman To prepare a carved image that will not totter. Have you not known? Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth? It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in. He brings the princes to nothing; He makes the judges of the earth useless. Scarcely shall they be planted, Scarcely shall they be sown, Scarcely shall their stock take root in the earth, When He will also blow on them, And they will wither, And the whirlwind will take them away like stubble. "To whom then will you liken Me, Or to whom shall I be equal?" says the Holy One. Lift up your eyes on high, And see who has created these things, Who brings out their host by number; He calls them all by name, By the greatness of His might And the strength of His power; Not one is missing. Why do you say, O Jacob, And speak, O Israel: "My way is hidden from the LORD, And my just claim is passed over by my God"? Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.
(Isa 40:18-31)

So what is God trying to tell us? He is saying "Wake Up! I am still the Creator of all things. You have sought refuge in everything but Me. Please understand that all things can be taken away with a simple short breath from My mouth but My love for you keeps Me from doing so. Can't you see that the things you have built, the things you have trusted in cannot save you in the day of calamity? Oh that you would trust in Me to be your shelter from the storm. Please turn your hearts toward Me and wait upon My goodness for My mercy is plentiful to those who will believe that I hold the keys to life. It is a simple principle that my favor will rest upon the nation, the family and the individual who will place their faith in Me."

I am not a prophet nor do I claim to be, but America has turned it's back upon God. No longer are our churches full on Sunday mornings, and the Lord's day is kept in contempt. The pop culture which includes the secular media shapes the morality and ethic in the world. And its message is drowning and destroying the lives of billions around the world and in our precious nation. I know this because every day I deal with the broken families--the cast offs of a pop culture morality gone sour. America and its families need to repent of their indifference to God and cast away their idols because they will not bring health and peace. As we all know they totter and they fall because they have no strength to deliver. The have no power to save.

We do not need to go dumpster diving in order to find sustenance. We need to seek the Lord while it is still day.

God Bless!

Mike,

Thanks for sharing this timely message that I know is from the heart beat of our Father. His Spirit yearns "jealously" for our UNDIVIDED attention, because "Father knows best"

May many be inspired to seek His face through this exhortation

in Christ

Tim
Thank you my faithful brother! I am disheartened over seeing all those people in NY Metro hurting, angry and suffering because they have refused to whole-heartedly trust the Lord. Yes, there are some who do but you can be assured they are not the ones diving into dumpsters or pulling guns in gas lines. We have a precious heavenly Father who desires us to seek Him and have fellowship with the saints that we may have a network to rely upon when these things occur. But all too often that relationship is never established and they seek their own will. In times of Peace and Plenty they find it easy to look to their idols for material needs but when the idols fall the pain that is felt is crushing. People need to know they can and should trust in Jesus during the easy times that when the hard times come they have a shelter and a strong-tower to hide beneath. I would rather sit in poverty in the shade of His palms than glory in the ever-dimming wealth of the nations--A wealth that is soon passing away. God Bless!

25 Reasons to Believe - In Jesus FREE EBOOK

FREE EBOOK click to download - When book comes up click down arrow on Upper Right to save a copy . A while back the Barna Group released a report titled, "Six Reasons Young Christians Leave Church." 1  Under reason two, " Teens’ and twenty-somethings’ experience of Christianity is shallow" they write:  "A second reason that young people depart church as young adults is that something is lacking in their experience of church. One-third said “church is boring” (31%). One-quarter of these young adults said that “faith is not relevant to my career or interests” (24%) or that “the Bible is not taught clearly or often enough” (23%). Sadly, one-fifth of these young adults who attended a church as a teenager said that “God seems missing from my experience of church” (20%)."  If one takes a look at the modern church-scape I can see why. The gap between those pastors and teachers that are fired up about Jesus and those that do not preach all of th...

Fornication - The Acceptable Sin?

In the Bible there are several sexual sins that are categorized under the term,"Sexual Immorality." Not the least of these is, "Fornication." However fornication has become an outdated, and in many places, the acceptable sin in the late twentieth and twenty-first centuries. As a matter of fact, many do not even know what the term "fornication" means. Since the advent of the modern Bible translation, many have never heard of it. This article focuses on what the Scripture says about this out-of-control acceptable sin. Fornication is mentioned thirty-six times in the Bible (MT), thirty-two times in the New Testament. In almost all modern translations the word has been substituted with, "sexual immorality" and has come to mean any number of sexual sins. However, sin (missing the mark) is still sin and sin still separates a person from God. So why has this sin become so acceptable even in modern churches???? UPDATE : Here is a testimony of life...

The Bride of Christ Has Made Herself Ready!!

The Bible teaches of an upcoming Wedding Day that the Church should be on cloud nine over!! Rev. 19:7-9 states: Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come , and His wife has made herself ready." And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. Then he said to me, "Write: 'Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!' " And he said to me, "These are the true sayings of God." The passage above speaks of two distinct events, the Marriage of the Lamb and the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. Both of these events are reminiscent of the ancient Jewish wedding ceremony where the Bride would become betrothed to her Groom and he would go away to build her a home. In the meantime she would wait anxiously for his return with shouts from his wedding party of "The Bridegroom Comes!" When the shouts were he...

Understanding Grace…without it no one can be saved!

Years ago as a pastor, I faced an issue concerning the topic of “Grace.” I had noticed some congregants who were taking Grace to the extreme and beginning to teach that since our sins were bought and paid for at the cross—all of them, past, present, and future—there was no need to strive against sin. Thanks to our Lord, this was noticed and the He quickly allowed it to be curbed. This heresy occasionally rears its head in Christian circles and indeed must be stopped before it becomes out-of-control. The good thing is that a proper understanding of Grace can arrest the heresy in its steps. Because this false perception thrives in loose living, many well-meaning Christians go completely to the opposite extreme and throw the Biblical teaching of “Grace” out altogether. That too is heresy. How should we approach it? Grace, as a doctrine, should always be presented in its entirety. By that I mean, a starting definition, followed by why it is important, and concluding with keeping it scri...

Guest post: Hind's Feet

Adrian Bateman, 2016          The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like hind’s feet, And He will make me walk on my high hills. — Habakkuk 3:19 For most human beings the primary goal of life, after survival, is the pursuit of happiness. Indeed it’s one of an American’s “unalienable rights”. But what is happiness? The definition of happy is surely situationally derived. For the hungry it would be having enough food; for the homeless, a home. For the average person it might be having more time, more leisure, more friends, more comforts, more things. Ultimately, happiness involves the removal of obstacles and the correction of problems so that we might live a life without struggle. Or, at least, without what we view as onerous or unnecessary struggle. But this is not God’s definition of happiness. No. True peace—biblical peace, that deep inner peace which we cannot explain—is found only in the presence of G...
