Now that May 21st has come and gone, many of the 'Camping" followers will fall into a disillusionment, even if for a short time. This always occurs after a false prediction. But the crux of the matter falls under the banner of discipleship. We as the blood-bought church have been given a responsibility by Jesus Himself, to make disciples accorrding to His teaching not ours.
18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.
The Bible never tells us to ascribe to the teachings of any other than what Jesus taught. Had Camping and his followers understood this there would be no issue because there would have been no prediction or date-setting.
However, some will say this will bring disrepute on the scriptures. This I say concerning that, those who choose to disbelieve upon the Lord do so because that is the choice they want to make. Those who listen to the still small voice of God as He speaks to their heart about their lost condition, will still arise and say yes. The Bible has always withstood attack and will continue to do so. Jesus said it would continue forever.
I am reminded of the words of Bernard Ramm:
He is ever so correct. God's Word has seen and endured much worse that the parties of the athiests of May 22nd 2011. Go ahead and throw your party, the Lord knows all about it. Yet understand this one thing, He still loves and He still loves you.
The Chuch stands victorious and the gates of hell will never prevail against her!
God Bless,
Bro. Mike

Truth is-there is an end of the world, that is said..
False is that we have no right at all to say when it's gonna happen, that all depends to the ultimate being, only he knows when..
Thanks so much for the comment Ellen!
